Great jig/frog rod. Loved the rod sleeve.
Awesome rod for the money. Old 18 is a wonderful American company and will have my business for life.
Rod is light weight with great sensitivity without sacrificing backbone. Great rod with a great price point.
Like always a great series rod ascent is a great rod at an affordable price I have the 7’6” heavy fast action great all around rod for work and jig fishing. Lots of backbone sturdy but light enough you can fish with it all day comfortably. I would suggest if you in the market try this one out American made by our very on veteran’s.
Rod is really light weight with a back bone
Awesome rods and the company logos look fantastic. Thank you Old 18.
This is my third rod from Old 18. My first was the Ascent 7’3”MH and I was really impressed so I ended up getting the Medium and a Kinetic Ultralight casting rod as well. These are my go to now. Thinking of getting a suppressor next.
I paired with a Shimano slx bfs reel and it handles great. I’ve thrown down to 1/16th oz without issue. Biggest fish I’ve caught on it so far is a 2.5lb smallie but I’ve no doubt it’ll handle bigger fish just fine.
Rod purchased within the month, with a few casts made. Last Saturday the butt section fractured during an overhand cast with a 1/8 oz lipless crank.
The butt section is very small in diameter compared to the butt tapers for most casting rods. Submitted in the warranty support form for next steps. The workmanship and components are very nice, but can’t have this happen.
Used many overseas bfs rods currently but this rod handle salt water exceptionally well, from spotted bay bass, to surf perch and even some undersize halibuts. Lost some cudas in the bay but that was not the rod's fault(mostly line and me getting too excited), all and all I'd say this is my go to rod for everything bay and surf fishing now.
