The Buoyancy Micro Lure Series Rods were developed for anglers who love to throw the lightest of lures and bait. Built in the USA by Master Builder Jake Brewer and anchored on a premium modulus carbon blank.  This combination gives maximum strength and feather weight. Buoyancy rods are works of art that can relay the lightest hits and yet fight the biggest fish.  Only using the best components, it has titanium guides with the hardest zirconian inserts, Fuji SK2 reel seats, and a unique carbon fiber split grip that will give an incredible feel without slip. The Buoyancy's style is in a class of its own. Inspired by our wildly popular SEAL Legacy rod, the Buoyancy is wrapped in Blue & Gold with anodized gold accents. Insanely light and designed for all-day sight and precision strike casting, Buoyancy is a serious weapon for the fight.

My new buoyancy ultralight casting rod

I purchased this rod for small streams & rivers smallmouth bass fishing. I couldn’t be happier, it cast small baits with ease. Rod has great flex fighting fish I am super happy. Thanks for making a great product.

Could use some quality control

Here are some videos to my review.

Could use some quality control

Have not fished with it yet, but the rod could use some quality control. Upon receiving it and inspecting the rod, I have noticed the blank has an imperfections that was sealed and the metal ring at the butt was not evenly placed on the bottom handle for a smooth uniform feel. The carbon material used to wrap the handle did not have enough glue and you can feel the material has some play where it was folded at the end of the handle to the split handle. Other than this, it was well packaged and fast shipping. This is my first rod from Old 18 and I expect a higher level of details to attention for something of this price point on rods. I find this level of detail is comparable to what you would find at Wal-Mart. It was rather disappointing and will consider looking else were if I ever decided to spend my money.

Awesome Customer Support / (and a really nice rod)!

I received my first rod that had a defect (happens), within the rear part of the blank. The warranty support I received is First Class!! This means a lot to me. It’s easy to see the investment these folks are making to make this company succeed in the quality and craftsmanship of this rod. Who else installs a metal lock ring for the reel seat? There is a lot of attention to the small details that stood out.

Ultra light BFS rod

Used many overseas bfs rods currently but this rod handle salt water exceptionally well, from spotted bay bass, to surf perch and even some undersize halibuts. Lost some cudas in the bay but that was not the rod's fault(mostly line and me getting too excited), all and all I'd say this is my go to rod for everything bay and surf fishing now.
