This rod was even lighter then expected. Fished all day with plastics and at the end of the day arms didn’t feel tight and tiered. Sensitivity was also better then some of my other high end poles. It is now my go to rig for 2022.
Love it great fit and finish amazing look, can’t wait to go tested at the water
Able to throw yellow magics and Bango lures with ease. This rod is able to help you put the bait in high strike zones. Don’t let this rod fool you, it can bring in the big ones. My biggest fish with this rod was 7#.
A very well built rod. I use it with a custom spool on my Diawa Coastal SV TW 150HS which gives me a BFS setup. I had the Utra Light and I broke it, called the staff at Old 18 was able to get a replacement at discount price. What more can you ask for in a rod company.
Very pleased. Paired with Curado BFS. Used to throw light cranks. Quality components.

This rod is great for fishing a Texas rig worm. I'm sure it will be good for other techniques as well. It's light in the hand and well balanced. Another great rod from Old18!
Amazing weight, sensitivity and strength. Felt every bump and can still handle a 26” redfish with ease.
I have purchased multiple rods from this company. I am very pleased with the quality.
Purchased rod to replace my Ambush that broke while fishing. I wanted a bit more length so I went with the 7'3 Ascent. Unfortunately it is only available as a Medium-Fast. Given the price point, I figured it would still be a light and superior rod with great casting ability compared to the Ambush I had. I used it for the 1st time today and the rod is significantly heavier than the Ambush and also much less sensitive to strikes. Not the right rod for me. This is the most expensive rod I have ever purchased and is now my least favorite. I fish the Bays/Flats with light tackle.
The rod feels very comfortable.in hand, the sensitivity is right up there with my NRX. and the casting is great!! Iam using this rod for small jigs fishing for bass and I can feel everything on the bottom, a bluegill bite feels like a giant fish!!! The rod has become my favorite!!!
