This rod is light and the feel of the grip, balance and ridgitiy is simple awesome! I'm going to be using it as a strolling set up for ffs on largemouth bass! The lakes are still kinda frozen around here. Will upload a pic of the first bass i catch! I have it paired with a lews light hypermag reel, 10lb braid and 10lb floro leader!
What I think about this rod Very handsome rod. Very light. Very responsive. Very sensitive. I have catch all type of fish. Channel catfish, blue catfish, bluegills, Crappie, alligator gar and Carp All in lake Conroe I did not catch largemouth bass at all. I will eventually. I love this rod. I'm definitely going to get the medium heavy.
I received the Kinetic heavy as a generous replacement by Old 18 because of my Ambush heavy broke during a hook set. I used it this weekend fishing Perky lake in Texas throwing a Texas rig with 1/2 ounce tungsten in 8’-24’ foot of water, fishing the edge of hydrilla grass. The rod was superb and never missed a hook set. The sensitivity when the bass would hit my lure was easy to identify. The backbone of this rod and the way it performed in this condition was remarkable for the price of this rod. I’m an avid weekend tournament fisherman and being retired military and law enforcement officer I can’t normally afford higher priced rods. Im sold on Old 18 rods and will let everyone know of the high quality of this rod and the excellent customer service I received..
Thank you Old 18
Sincerely,
Dan Wolff
Amazing rod, first trip I fished for 4 hours and caught many specs. Extremely light weight and plenty of backbone.
This rod is among the best bait finesse casting rods on the market. Good, deep rod bend, even with small fish. The shorter 6 1/2 ft length balances out with the lighter casting reels very well. It took a while for the ultra light models to be back in stock, but the wait was worth it. Rod has quality components too.
There I was in the early morning summertime karashi bait throwing fish catching jam of a day bass fishing hook setting ripping lips kind of day. Yeah that good 👍. Would like to see a 7'6 ultra light.
