I'll have to give this a shot on Frog fishing, but I love this rod for jerkbait fishing. This rod is a good length for both open water and tight quarters. The mod fast action provides the parabolic bend needed to keep the fish on and it's amazingly light that you can fish with all day long.
Believe it or not, this is my frog rod! This rod being 7'0 with a fast tip makes it a dream when skipping frogs into those hard-to-reach places! This rod has the heart of a beast but looks like a lady, I have no problem hauling in the big girls on this rod. This rod is light, easy to place precise casts with and WILL NOT FAIL YOU ON THE FROG HOOK UP! I have two of these on my deck at all times during the top water season, they also handle all trouble hook top waters as well.
This rod is capable of skipping a frog deep in the brush yet strong enough to drag him out.

This rod is great for fishing a Texas rig worm. I'm sure it will be good for other techniques as well. It's light in the hand and well balanced. Another great rod from Old18!
Amazing weight, sensitivity and strength. Felt every bump and can still handle a 26” redfish with ease.
I have purchased multiple rods from this company. I am very pleased with the quality.
Purchased rod to replace my Ambush that broke while fishing. I wanted a bit more length so I went with the 7'3 Ascent. Unfortunately it is only available as a Medium-Fast. Given the price point, I figured it would still be a light and superior rod with great casting ability compared to the Ambush I had. I used it for the 1st time today and the rod is significantly heavier than the Ambush and also much less sensitive to strikes. Not the right rod for me. This is the most expensive rod I have ever purchased and is now my least favorite. I fish the Bays/Flats with light tackle.
The rod feels very comfortable.in hand, the sensitivity is right up there with my NRX. and the casting is great!! Iam using this rod for small jigs fishing for bass and I can feel everything on the bottom, a bluegill bite feels like a giant fish!!! The rod has become my favorite!!!
