The Buoyancy Series is developed for anglers who love to throw micro lures. Master builder Jake Brewer has created a work of art that can relay the lightest hits and yet fight the biggest fish. It's made right here in the USA and is built on a premium modulus, 30+24 ton carbon mixed blank that gives more strength over the ones incorporated in our previous micro lure models. Only using the best components, it has titanium guides with the hardest zirconian inserts, and a unique carbon fiber split grip that will give an incredible feel without slip. The Buoyancy style is in a class of its own. Inspired by our wildly popular SEAL Legacy rod, the Buoyancy is wrapped in Blue & Gold with anodized gold accents. Insanely light and designed for all-day sight casting, Buoyancy is a serious weapon for the fight.

What an awesome rod. It is so light!
I ordered on Black Friday. What a deal !!! It came with a rod sleeve and as a bonus was sent a goodie box with all kinds of extras hat, buff and lure. Great rod! Awesome deal!
Bought 2Suppressor’s a year ago for reds and been eyeballing this Buoyancy as my dedicated spec rod. Have been more than pleased with everything Old18 has put out. Wife likes them too…after yelling at me about the price lol. Long story short “If your wife is mad at you, buy a fishing pole” And imma choose Old18 every time! 💯
All I can say is WOW. This rod is something special. Didnt have an issue with hybrids, white bass and even crappie. Its a ML rod but it feels more like a medium instead. This is a beast in its nature. Paired it with a Twin Power FD 3000 and man im so glad I bought this rod and will continuing buying from this brand for sure!!!
Awesome rods and the company logos look fantastic. Thank you Old 18.
This is my third rod from Old 18. My first was the Ascent 7’3”MH and I was really impressed so I ended up getting the Medium and a Kinetic Ultralight casting rod as well. These are my go to now. Thinking of getting a suppressor next.
I paired with a Shimano slx bfs reel and it handles great. I’ve thrown down to 1/16th oz without issue. Biggest fish I’ve caught on it so far is a 2.5lb smallie but I’ve no doubt it’ll handle bigger fish just fine.
Rod purchased within the month, with a few casts made. Last Saturday the butt section fractured during an overhand cast with a 1/8 oz lipless crank.
The butt section is very small in diameter compared to the butt tapers for most casting rods. Submitted in the warranty support form for next steps. The workmanship and components are very nice, but can’t have this happen.
Used many overseas bfs rods currently but this rod handle salt water exceptionally well, from spotted bay bass, to surf perch and even some undersize halibuts. Lost some cudas in the bay but that was not the rod's fault(mostly line and me getting too excited), all and all I'd say this is my go to rod for everything bay and surf fishing now.
