Always thought rods were basically the same after the $100 mark, boy was I wrong. This thing launches and it's sooo sensitive. Love this purchase, I'll have to get a heavy to replace my Duckett ASAP! Amazingly light and perfectly balanced I knew it was going to be amazing when I first took it out of the box and it's yet to disappoint!
I have fished with the 6 1/2’ Knighthawk ML casting rod several times and it’s a great rod, design quality is top notch. Some rods are too fast, and bend only across a short distance of the blank, but this one is more moderate and I like that because the stress on the blank is more evenly distributed. Plus it bends nicely on small and average sized bass, which is what I wanted. This is a very fun and sensitive rod to fish, handle grip is longer than most split grip rods out there, which is good because heel of my hand doesn’t hang over the edge like on some rods with shorter grips. The 8-10 lb. line size is perfect for my kind of fishing, this rod casts 1/8 to 1/4 oz lures very accurately. It’s among my favorite casting rods I own, and works well for bait finesse too.
Best of the best my fifth rod from this company
Yet another beautiful Buoyancy from Old 18 and another of many Old 18 rods in my inventory. This will be paired with a Bates 150 Salty and 20 pound braid and fished from my Old Town Autopilot 120 on the flats of the Maryland and Virginia Chesapeake Bay as well as when I can get home to Texas and Louisiana. Haven't had the opportunity to use it yet due to winter here but as soon as I do I will submit some images.
Another gorgeous Old 18 rod and I have many of them! This will be paired with the Bates Goat 150 Baitcasting reel running 30 pound braid. We're in a "Deep Freeze up here in Pennsylvania and I haven't had an opportunity to use it as of yet. As soon as I do I will submit some pictures as well.
Bought this rod based on other reviews , sales price and thought what the heck. It’s very light but has good balance. It’s a great looking rod . The reel seat is a little different then what I’m use to it has double nut lock design. One thing I’d wish it had was Fuji brand eyelets and reel seat. That was the only thing kinda keeping me from buying it.
Used inshore for ned set-up...I've built rods for a long time. This blank/build is very very nice for the price point 💯I've paid $200+ for rods/blanks that do not compare to this kinetic series...this is my third one..I will continue to do business with old 18 it's just too expensive to build rods anymore and makes no sense when you can purchase a rod as nice as this...thankyou and God bless 🙏
