I use these primarily for bass fishing and they are lightweight but strong. I love Old18 rods. I have several Kinetic rods as well that I use for saltwater and freshwater.
I have a variety of old 18 rods, the nighthawk is a great addition. Could not be happier! Would definitely recommend!
Initial review just received taking out again this weekend. First impressions and first use. Top class for value, extremely light, good feel very good quality. Customer service also excellent. Bought original for son, will be buying a second for me.
For a MEDIUM rod, this is super lightweight, and sensitive. Casting small jigheads is a pleasure!!
The rod weight feels like a ML power and has a great action, transferring light strikes and has a quick hook set. Will be my go-to flounder and redfish rod.

Worth it! This rod paired with a 100 size baitcaster is a dynamite combo. Has some backbone but the blank has a nice curve that will keep fish pinned on trebles. Beautifully crafted, no issues!
I inshore fish a lot and this rod is the best. I was afraid it was too light for reds but after catching one my worries were gone. I have purchased 3 because when I pick up another rod I have to have the same cast ability. Big Fan!
Absolutely love this rod. Perfection addition to my other Old 18 rods.
