Buoyancy 6'6" Medium Light Casting Mod Fast

This is number 15 of my Old 18 Rod collection and will be paired with a Bates Hundo LTS 100 size casting reel for BFS efforts. My collection contains both casting and spinning including the Buoyancy, Suppressor and Kinetic series used in both fresh and saltwater with premium reels by Bates, Diawa and Shimano perfectly matched and paired with each rod. As a veteran myself, I support veterans and especially veteran owned small businesses. All of the Old 18 rods are beautifully built and fish as they are described.

From reeling in saltwater specs, flounder, and redfish to bass in freshwater. The sensitivity and strength of this rod is incomparable. Best rod I’ve ever owned. From the time of placing the order to getting it delivered incredibly fast.

I purchased this rod as a light hybrid bfs setup for Louisiana Reds and Specs. This rod is combined with a Lews custom lite reel with 20lb power pro v2 with a 20lb flouro and is extremely light weight. The rod feels very good in hand and I am loving the mesh grip feel. I was fearful at first upon receiving the rod. It is so light that I figured if i hook a 36"+ redfish, it might break the rod, but old18 assured me I should be okay as long as I finesse a fish that big in the boat.

I went to test it this weekend on sand bass at a local lake and could immediately tell it could easily handle some big fish.

Old 18 contacted me and corrected all issues with my order. There were some communication issues between the reps who changed the order and the shipping personnel who apparently did not get the memo. However, the correct rod was shipped, and my son is impressed with the product. We can wait to try it out on a slot redfish, speckled trout or flounder.
