Protect your investment with an Old 18 rod sleeve. Help prevent breaking or damaging your favorite rod and keep hooks from snagging. Transport and store your rods with confidence, whether you fish out of a kayak, boat, or off the bank.
The sleeve can be used for both casting and spinning and is made of durable neoprene which provides the ultimate barrier you need.
Stylish and the perfect addition to protect my Old 18 rods.
Heavy duty covers. A little on the heavy side compared to other net style covers but I’d rather have more protection. Great buy. Would definitely buy again.
By far the most protective rod socks I’ve used. No more dealing with hooks getting caught and tangled. The thicker neoprene protects the guide very well. The best part is that you can connect them to your reel and not have to worry about the sock sliding off in your Rod box. Currently have 22 and will definitely be buying more in the future.
Have not fished with it yet, but the rod could use some quality control. Upon receiving it and inspecting the rod, I have noticed the blank has an imperfections that was sealed and the metal ring at the butt was not evenly placed on the bottom handle for a smooth uniform feel. The carbon material used to wrap the handle did not have enough glue and you can feel the material has some play where it was folded at the end of the handle to the split handle. Other than this, it was well packaged and fast shipping. This is my first rod from Old 18 and I expect a higher level of details to attention for something of this price point on rods. I find this level of detail is comparable to what you would find at Wal-Mart. It was rather disappointing and will consider looking else were if I ever decided to spend my money.
I just picked up two of these rods a couple of weeks ago. Out of the box they looked great and felt great in the hand, still do. However, the first day out on the water I was very disappointed with the lack of sensitivity. I have a Hallow Point and a Ballistic rod from Old18 and love them a lot and expected the same great product. Unfortunately, out of all of my other similarly priced rods from several different brands, these two Ascent rods are the least sensitive rods on my boat and I’m not quite sure what to think about that, as I had really high expectations of them. You live, you learn I guess.
Excellent rod for almost any bass fishing application. Very sensitive tip with plenty of backbone. Well done.
I finally had a chance to use this rod today. After dragging lures through some weeds, it is easy to tell the difference between a light bite VS snagging up on some weeds. I hate setting the hook on salad. Love the rod. It brought in seven decent northern pike today.
