I never thought to look at this rod for my bfs needs. The build quality is excellent. Rod weighs 3.1 ounces. I am sure it is a killer rod for inshore but it’s also a fresh water slayer. I have a Flight Feather Cormorant reel on it. Very happy with Rod. It is my ninth Old 18 rod. Thanks again Randy.
This is my fourth Kinetic series rod. Excellent product due to excellent workmanship and quality components. This is my first 7’3” MediumCasting fast model and it is extremely stiff for a “medium” designation. I have “heavy” model of different manufacture that are not so stiff. That said it is still a great rod for jigs, flipping, etc…. If you’re looking for a less limber rod try the kinetic 7’ medium.
This is my second purchase of an Old 18 rod. I use it for my BFS setup. Great quality and workmanship! Super lightweight but has a great backbone for strength. Will be buying more in the future.
Good action casts great, I would like hand grip made of different material
Caught a few Bass and Hybrids on it so far. Great to fight hard pulling fish with. I feel like it would excel as a stout crank bait rod / chatterbait rod. Big spooks and even TX rigs.
